Soul-stretch: Higher Standards for Nobility and Nicety
Your soul desires a higher standard of conduct.In the make-believe world, fiction and films are filled with flawed characters fighting their way to selfish goals. Pick up any book on how to write novels and short stories and you see the word "conflict" in bold.For mass conflict, consider that people love war. Even the blasted bodies of innocent babies in a battle zone do not prompt the laying down of arms or the hammering of pistols into plowshares. It doesn't have to be that way. The change starts with secret questions. You have to be silently skeptical of all you've been taught. You must privately challenge every authority and doubt the word of every teacher, messenger, mystic or prophet to get to real truth at rock bottom. This quest to the secret, silent, private side of your nature means you are about to get acquainted with your soul Soul-stretch is a term we have coined to help you extend your goals to new heights of glory. Why settle for average when you can be great! We'll leave arguments about what the soul is and how it functions to philosophers. If you can sense an aspect of your being that is super-intelligent, supremely safe and loving, you are on the right track. Soul is so ordinary it does not need shocking events, mysterious signs or eerie voices. All it takes are questions you ask in solitude with absolute honesty in the answers received. Don't ask your friends for they can't help you. If you read spiritual books, know that they contain someone else's experience. You still have a long way to go to make soul knowledge personal - so real you understand all by yourself, not dependent on infallible teachers and special revelations. Soul-stretch is all about you and how you can gather confidence and courage to face the universe alone, but with complete certainty of riches and happiness now and in the future Soul-stretch can be difficult for many people for they haven't a clue as to how to think for themselves. They wouldn't dream of questioning holy writings, yet that is what your soul longs to do. Surprisingly, your faith may grow, but the difference is you now believe through deep conviction and not blind obedience

Even though our lives progressively moves forward on occasion it has a way of working what seems to be in a backwards motion, yet in the end achieves the same results. I remember years ago when I started my bodybuilding career, I had no self- confidence, poor self-esteem, and an introverted personality. I couldn't fathom doing what others believed I could accomplish in such an unusual sport that went totally against my nature. However, at first I thought, "I didn't want to let them down and what if they're right? What if I could accomplish something if I set my mind to it, I asked? What if by believing in something bigger than myself would allow me to be a better person, develop confidence and be more outgoing?" Then over a period of time the belief others had started to rub off in me, combined with my work ethic the rest became history. Soul Provider I had the intention of writing about Soul Mates but it occurred to me to write more about a Soul on its own beforehand. Angel to Angel Years ago, my minister spoke to us about how you could solicit the help of your guardian angels to help with conflict resolution. She told us stories about how she and others had successfully asked their guardian angels to speak to the enemy's guardian angel. The idea being that when you find yourself in an argumentative situation with someone, that you could request that your guardian angel talk angel to angel with their guardian angel about finding a win-win situation. She gave us examples of times when after asking for the angels to help mediate the problem, that the other party suddenly softened and the solutions began to easily show themselves. As she told the stories of her successes with this approach to problem solving, I began to think about how to use it in my own life. Are You a Microwave or Crock Pot? In our fast paced society we often want everything done quickly or your boss wants it done yesterday. In your spiritual life are you a Microwave or Crock Pot? I think often we want God to answer our prayers in Microwave fashion. I prayed a specific request today and I want it answered today. If our prayers are not answered quickly, we often wonder, "What is God doing?" We also decide to go it on our own and not wait for God's direction. Often it is difficult to wait on God's timing. The Wisdom of the River: Lessons Learned Over the past few years I have watched the popularity of whitewater rafting grip the vacation market. "Strange", I thought. "Why would floating down a river become such a hotly contested vacation destination?" Today, I understand this phenomena completely. There is a wisdom and lesson that only the river can teach.
