It will be helpful to know the basic meaning of yoga before you start with your routines. It will be nice that you understand why you need to do such pose of yoga. Yoga means in Sanskrit language, to “bring together”. Yoga is a lifestyle which unites our mind (spirit), body and breath. Yoga has a deeper meaning, more than just stretching your body and performing all those movements.

Yoga is popularly known for developing your flexibility, tone your muscles and stress reliever. It also gives you a good sense of mindfulness and holistic approach to yoga practitioners. As a starter in yoga, it would be best to start with the simple poses, breathing exercise and meditation. You will be comfortable with yoga by those slow movements. It will teach you how to listen to your body. Once you are comfortable with basic movements, you can level up by doing the advanced routines.

The 1st two poses that your yoga instructor will let you practice are the breathing techniques or the asana and pranayama yoga. Becoming at ease with these 2 routines, it will now give the way on enhancing your mind. Once you get comfortable with the routines eventually, you will complete the yoga's 8 limbs.

It's important to start your yoga exercise with a breathing exercise. You can start doing your breathing exercise in a sitting or lying position with your eyes closed. Just focus on your breathing, prevent on doing anything, don't think of anything and just listen to your breathe. You will learn so many things on the state of your mind and body by just listening with your breathing. You are stressed and anxious if your breathing is shallow and fast. What you need to do is to slow down your breathing and you will feel that the stress will start to go away. Continue doing the slow deep breathing to let your body and mind relax more.

Learning yoga is best with a professional yoga trainer. Your yoga instructor will help you every step of the way.
