Is Out Of Body Travel Real?
Feb 16th, 2010 by admin

Various cultures have recorded out of body travel, including the ancient Egyptians. Kha is the word they used to describe the soul or astral body, while they also included images of the astral body as if hovering just above or even beyond the physical body. The astral body was depicted as a haloed, airy translucent being.

In their fascination of the astral body these ancient people used various methods of controlling their ability of out of body travels to other planes of space and time, all the while their physical body stayed put. It is possible that practising astral projection, they learned the secret skills needed to build the ancient pyramids using the materials they already had. Even today scientists are baffled as to the construction of the pyramids of the ancient Egyptians.

It's recorded that meditation, nearly to the point of sleep, was the first component of out of body travel for the ancient Egyptians, followed by then concentrating on nothing but the visions one sees while his or her eyes were closed. Often, flashes of lights and patterns appeared, which the ancient Egyptians attributed to the beginnings of the astral body's journey to other planes of time and space.

When this state passed, the astral body was said to then enter into an emergence phase, which in turn caused the physical body to hum or tingle and then feel very heavy. The ancients believed this feeling of tingling and heaviness was actually the feeling of the astral body pulling away from the physical body, and initiating the out of body journey into the unknown.

The techniques for accomplishing this varied, but the most common practice seemed to be to simply "walk" out of oneself, beginning through the mind's eye, followed then by the shoulders and chest, hips, legs, knees, and finally the feet until there were two entities - a physical body and the astral body.

This separating of bodies, then allowed the astral body to pass freely through solid objects, it could also hover and fly about without being effected by the lack of oxygen or changes in the atmosphere.

Examples of out of body travel is also recorded by the ancient Greeks. They simply expanded on the state induced by meditation according to the ancient Egyptians. They also recorded out of body experiences that were caused by various types of mental or physical trauma. Plutarch of Queroneia an ancient historian mentions a person named Arisdeu after suffering from a blunt head trauma, which occurred by falling and who then slipped into a three day coma.

At this time, Arisdeu tells of the ability to see his physical body laying on the ground yet he was free to move around without it. In astral form he tells of his ability of out of body travel to go to places that were not conceivable. He was met by his spirit guide while in astral form. His spirit guide assisted and advised him concerning astral travel in other existing astral planes.

Although, he was eventually pulled back into his physical body, while in his altered state he did learn and explore. Once returning to his physical body, he did spend the rest of his life using the knowledge he found during the time of his out of body experience.

Other ancient cultures recorded their findings of out of body travel similar to that of the ancient Egyptians and Greeks. For instance, the history of the Native Americans includes various full accounts of such happenings to their people as well. Their accounts include the meeting of their spirit guides and totem spirit animals. These entities also advised them concerning the astral plane and the astral body. For centuries, the Native Americans have used specific plants for burning and inhaling in order to relax the mind to the point of being more receptive to out of body travel on the astral planes.

The human body has the ability to explore different horizons of time and space. This has been recorded since the beginning of time. We are able to channel our consciousness into a spiritual body. However, many modern individuals have forgotten this wonderfully natural gift. Many have forgotten how to alter our consciousness to the point that we can release it from the confines of our physical limitations. However, with practice we can join with our spiritual guides and self on the higher planes of existence.

The door is within each of us, we simply need to remember how to reconnect with the higher more spiritual side so that we are once more about to journey out of body to those higher planes. The possibilities are unlimited. It is a natural process and once we rediscover this inside ourselves we can gain in the potentials of understanding our higher self.

Are Astral Projection Methods Easy?
Feb 16th, 2010 by admin

The specific methods of astral projection vary, but one thing always stays the same. No matter what astral projection methods you use, the first step is always getting focused and relaxed. You have to have a quiet mind and a mind set that will let you reach beyond your physical boundaries. Once you do this you are ready to explore the endless universe.

Focused relaxation is not easy. One must simultaneously relax every muscle and still every thought all while maintaining the presence of mind to stay conscious. The most common reason an astral projection attempt fails, in fact, is because the candidate does not maintain his or who focus through the relaxation phase of the process, and thus, simply falls asleep.

How to start with the astral projection methods. Begin the focused relaxation phase by first dressing in comfortable clothing, then sitting in a chair where it is unlikely one will be disturbed. Lying down is not recommended for beginners, as it is too easy to lose one's grasp on his or her concentration and give in to the pulls of sleep.

Once seated comfortably, imagine that tension is a fabric bandage that has been wrapped over every inch of the body -- much like a mummy - that tightly constricts even the smallest of toes. Next, imagine those small toes being unwrapped. Warm blood flow returns, as does the feeling of cool air to the skin's surface. Imagine the same process for each individual toe until all ten toes have been "freed."

Now the balls of your feet through the arches and heels, up to the ankles are unwrapping. Keep moving up the body, unwrapping each body part until you everything is free up to the top of your head.

Now with you body relaxed and your mind still alert you are ready. You can move on to trying one of the methods of astral projection.

The principle method for astral projection is the rope method. Before beginning the relaxation phase, and individual should tack a section of twine to the ceiling just beyond reach if in a sitting position. One should then sit beneath the "rope" and reach up while closing his or her eyes in order to get a mental impression of the rope's proximity.

With the rope in place your astral fingers can find it easily. You will float up to the rope and be able to use it during your astral projection. You may not find it too easy to use the rope at first, but eventually you will be able to do it easily. Keep focused.

After finding the rope, concentrate on pulling the astral self up and out of the physical body as if climbing up the length of rope. Imagine the process without regard for weight, as the astral body is weightless and can climb effortlessly. A sense of dizziness may occur at this point, but it's important to ignore this feeling, otherwise one may jeopardize the projection attempt.

Continue "climbing" the rope until liberated from the physical body, all the while ignoring any sensations of vertigo, nausea, humming, warming, heaviness and/or tingling that may accompany the process. Any and all of these sensations are normal to a successful astral projection experience.

You may also hear of slight variations of the rope method. Some of these include the lift method of lifting the astral body out and hovering above the physical body. There is the roll out method of rolling out of the body to end up beside the body, mostly done when lying down. The fixed and moving anchor methods are two other methods.

The fixed method and anchor method involved picturing an object. In the fixed method you are pulling your astral body to the object and in the anchor method the object is pulling your astral body to it. Once you are free your astral body can then roam and explore.

It is important to know that astral projection methods are not immediate. You must learn and practice the process. You may fail in your first attempts, but always keep your attitude positive. Make sure that you understand why you fail if you do. You can often be too tired, not focused enough or distracted.

The more dedicated the individual, however, the sooner he or she will be able to troubleshoot these issues, master the methods of astral projection, and ultimately, transcend the limitations of the physical body.

Remote Viewing Training – For Beginners
Oct 23rd, 2009 by admin

Remote viewing is actually a psychic ability, and it lets you see people, places and objects not within your normal realm of five senses. In other words, you can't see them by natural means, but you can use your own psychic ability, which is innate, by the way, to perceive things without having to actually directly experience them.

Some people may get remote viewing mixed up with out-of-body experiences. That, however, is astral travel, and involves traveling in some non-bodily form to a place or an event, although you would still not be there physically. Remote viewing has nothing to do with traveling. Someone who has undergone remote viewing training is actually using ESP of a certain type.

Remote viewing is a form of psychic dowsing, where the viewer is using psychic power to seek out whatever he wants to find. Someone who has undergone remote viewing training uses a form of ESP to locate that which he seeks.

Everyone is psychic, by the way. Most of us just don't develop this power fully when we're young. And because most of us only use 10% of our brains' capacity, you have to realize that we have another 90% of brainpower that is dormant and left untapped and untrained that we're not using and don't know what to do with.

Imagine being able to reach out and just know that your children are okay while they're away from family. The security and peace of mind that comes with being able to use remote viewing for beneficial needs is priceless.

Remote viewing is different than other forms of psychic ability because anyone can learn how to do it. In fact, studies have shown that even so-called 'non-psychic' people can practice remote viewing once they've been taught to enter into a trancelike state. And, they were very accurate as well.

1. Shut your eyes and sit comfortably in a serene place without any reasonable expectation of distraction.

1. Go to a quiet room and sit in a comfortable chair, closing your eyes. Make sure you'll have no distractions while you do this.

2. Relax and breathe deeply through your nose. You will find your breathing may be easier to control if you press your tongue lightly to the roof of your mouth. This will also curb your tendency to yawn during this phase.

3. Suspend your disbelief for the moment and believe that you do have the ability to practice remote viewing. Simply believing that you can do it will increase your success with remote viewing. As you go deeper into your relaxation, you need to be able to believe that you can see people, places and events that you've never actually physically seen.

4. Your remote viewing training can begin with you choosing a simple target to show your mind that you are capable of achieving this kind of psychic seeking. Perhaps begin by viewing yourself from a place in front of you, as though you were looking back at your relaxed body as you sit there through a mirror. It can be a little difficult at first to allow your mind to view yourself from an opposite perspective, but be patient. When you do see yourself from the angle that others see you, you'll be in for a wonderful surprise.

5. Once you've gotten this first exercise under control and can see yourself from a remote perspective, try to go a little bit 'wider' with your view, and observe a location you know well. A friend's or parent's house that you know very well is a good place of practice. When you do this second remote viewing exercise, try to notice things that are out of place that normally wouldn't be, such as magazines on the table or dishes in the sink. When you've got a chance to, call and confirm what you've seen. You'll reinforce what you've seen, which is important, because it will show you that you can indeed practice remote viewing with your mind -- and it can show you the power your mind has.

It is possible to amend these remote viewing training exercises to include two people so that you'll have your feedback and results much more quickly. Instead of viewing places or people you want to see, have a friend sit in another room and repeat a simple movement, like a hand wave or pulling hair. Try to determine through your remote viewing exercises what action your friend is repeating and compare notes to get your results.

Once you've spent some time practicing these training techniques in remote viewing, you probably find it is much quicker and easier to get yourself into a relaxed state than it has been previously. The state you achieve when you do remote viewing is very much like the trancelike state people achieve when they're under hypnosis. Even though they're still wide awake, their bodies are relaxed and they can access their subconscious minds much more easily.

We can much more easily access our psychic abilities of our subconscious minds, so the more you practice these techniques in remote viewing training, the more expert you'll become.
